Cloud migration to Microsoft Azure and AWS

We move your servers, databases and applications to Microsoft Azure or AWS in planned stages, each with a tested way back. The cloud you end up with is secure, documented and defined as code, so it is cheaper to run and safe to change long after the migration is finished.

When it’s time to move to the cloud

  • On-premises servers are ageing, out of support or due for replacement.
  • A data centre or hosting contract is coming to an end.
  • Remote and hybrid working is limited by systems in the office.
  • You need better resilience and disaster recovery than you have today.

What a migration covers

  • Discovery and assessment

An inventory of servers, applications, data and the dependencies between them, with licensing and running costs compared.

  • A plan for each workload

Whether each system should move as it is, be modernised on the way, be replaced by a managed service, or be retired.

  • Secure landing zone

Accounts, identity, networking, security baselines and budgets set up properly before the first workload arrives.

  • Data and database migration

Moving data with integrity checks, and keeping it in sync until the moment of cut-over.

  • Cut-over and rollback

Scheduled for quiet periods, rehearsed in advance, with a tested way back if anything does not behave.

  • Optimisation afterwards

Right-sizing, reservations and clean-up once real usage is known, so the monthly bill reflects what you use.

How a migration runs

  1. 01

    Discover

We map what you run today, how it connects and what it costs, and agree the goals for the move.

  2. 02

    Plan

Workloads are grouped into waves with dates, owners, tests and rollback steps, in a written plan with a fixed price.

  3. 03

    Build

The landing zone and environments are built in Terraform, reviewed and versioned like application code.

  4. 04

    Migrate and optimise

Each wave is moved, tested and signed off before the next, then tuned once real usage is known.

What you receive

  • An assessment of your current estate, its dependencies and costs
  • A migration plan in waves, with rollback steps for each
  • A secure, documented landing zone defined in Terraform
  • Migrated workloads, tested and signed off with you
  • A post-migration cost and performance review

Cloud migration: common questions

Should we move to Azure or AWS?

It depends on the tools you already use and your team's skills. Businesses built around Microsoft 365 often suit Azure; we recommend after reviewing your setup.

Will the cloud be cheaper than our servers?

Not automatically. Costs fall when workloads are right-sized, idle resources are switched off and long-running systems use reservations, which is why optimisation is part of every migration.

Will the migration cause downtime?

We migrate in stages with tested rollback steps and schedule cut-overs for quiet periods, keeping disruption to a minimum.

How long does a cloud migration take?

It depends on how many systems you have and how they connect. The written plan sets out each wave and its dates before work starts.

Can you move our files and email to Microsoft 365 as well?

Yes. File shares and email often move to SharePoint, OneDrive and Exchange Online as part of the same programme, and our managed IT team can support them afterwards.
